I never claimed this was hypersonic just satisfying.
They don't need them (for now), they even refused Russian help as they are confident they can beat them alone.
They only accepted help from China that put a ship there. Now they can track F-35's and whatever is suposedly 'stealth'.
Also it helps their own missiles.
They are gradually going harder and say they are giving the colonisers a chance to leave.
