EDIT: Also, what does any of this have to do with Proton's privacy policy? If your argument has any relevance, it's in relation to a moral objection to the CEO's political statements. Proton AG is a Swiss company, none of this actually matters in reality.
It’s a personal moral objection to his political statements but also a logical one. When someone in the privacy business makes favorable statements about the way a political figure is running things, it’s worth noting. When that political figure is loudly pro-cop, it should give you pause. When push comes to shove is this privacy ceo going to protect your privacy or give in to the cops?
It’s a lot of very fragile eggs to put in that basket. And with so many other options around I feel more comfortable with one that hasn’t issued statements supporting or denouncing or even acknowledging any political figure or stance at all. I need my privacy CEOs to exist in a space separate from all that noise, focused entirely on my privacy.
