- No manipulating votes via bots or alt accounts; this will result in permanent bans. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in an account ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be permanently banned.

Projection is at the core of GOP
Which makes me legitimately scared about what happens if/when they get control of the executive branch again.
When, not if.
You got downvoted because it’s an uncomfortable statement, but you’re not wrong. Conservatives are very good at riling up voters, whereas democrats seem to present the most milquetoast candidates at every single opportunity.
The biggest opponent for conservatives is liberals; The biggest opponent for liberals consistently seems to be other liberals. Because liberals have repeatedly shown that even when they have full control of the legislative and executive branches, they’re still ineffective at passing meaningful legislation. Meanwhile, conservatives are really really good at presenting a unified front. They’re able to fall in line and vote on unpopular things without worrying about pissing off half of their voter base.
True when they're passing monstrous legislation. However, another feature of conservative politics is constant in-fighting and back-biting. They're frequently throwing each other under the bus, recording conversations and leaking them, etc. It's pretty entertaining when you can step back from the horror of it all.
