Understandable they are pissed. Paying in advance for games not yet made is a fucking scam, develop your shit and convince me with a finished, polished product.

I'm also sceptical of the bunch of promotional fluff in that link, that generally means less substance more bullshit in a game.

Without crowd funding there's just games made by big publishers and the occasional indie company that is started by someone already loaded

Looking at how Abiotic Factor and Pillars of Eternity did it, it can be done right and not be a scam. But it's tough to guess which project won't end up like this mess.

It's a big reason why I tend to avoid Kickstarter/early access games. I understand the funding these campaigns bring in help keep the studio afloat, but I would rather wait for the full release.
