- You have very little rights as you've chosen to work without pay.
- The company has no obligation to hire you as you're already working for free.
- They can continue spewing bullshit about they're "considering your application" for as long as they want until you eventually decide to quit.
You're more likely to get hired by volunteering at a non-profit, cooperative, public benefit company.
Why?
- They probably care more about the people they want to continually work with.
- Higher likely to have a lower turnover rate.
- More likely to have worker protections.
- Probably have better working conditions than mandatory overtime crunch without equivalent pay.
Corporations can hire and layoff in mass droves with no real repercussions unfortunately.
Since this is already and continually happening, if you're working as a corporate volunteer I think you're unfortunately wasting a lot of your time :/
- also if you're currently volunteering there's 0 reason to give any amount of prior notice before quitting. I mean what are they gonna do? fire you?🤣
If what you mean is unpaid internships, they're great ways to perpetuate elitism because they select for people with rich parents.
