I love DEVO, however I was definitely not aware of this. Mark Mothersbaugh added "We Smell Sausage" in reverse on several of his projects. It's a nice little Easter egg considering the controversy of backwards masking in 70's and 80's music. Prince did something very similar at the end of Darling Nikki on Purple Rain.

They played basically that exact audio (without the explanation) back in the day on The Hour Of Slack lol. But of course that isn't odd, considering Reverend Mark Mothersbaugh has been a member of The Church since the early days and contributed music and other tapes to the show, the tape Stang played was sent by Mark lol. Praise "Bob"!
