One last grift: on his deathbed, Trump received the light of Islam and unhesitatingly recited the Shahāda

Fuckin lol

Imagining the Christian nationalists losing their mind; that would be iconic.

Eh. Trump isn’t a christian by their definition now. He could find Krishna on his deathbed and they’ll still make pilgrimages to his grave, expecting him to rise up as their saviour.

They don’t care about his beliefs or actions. All that matters is their own fear, anger, and hate. That’s all this has really been about. Not ideals, not standards, and certainly not reality.

Yes he is. He doesn't go to church. He doesn't know what's in the bible. He's self-centred, greedy, and hateful to those who are different. He's exactly like the Christians that worship him.

Right, most of them are like that.

He’s objectively a christian, but not by their idealised definition. They can’t see they’re also all of those things, because they’ve perverted the meanings of right and wrong, ‘good’ and ‘evil’, and what morality is.

I don't think they'd give a shit at this point.

Whatever he does must be right and he must be obeyed; he is now their God. They'll come up with some explanation for why it was clever or something.
