I don't know if you've seen the video of Snoop Dogg criticizing other black artists for performing at Trump's inauguration in the first election? He called them, and I quote, "jigaboo ass n-...".

I used the "jigaboo" word to criticize Snoop for performing at Trump inauguration party. I thought it was a made up funny word that he had come up with. But apparently not. It has a historical racist meaning, and I wasn't aware of that. And instead of explaining it to me, everyone blew up and an admin from lemmy.ca decided to go on a rampage and ban me from every community I ever participated on.

I'm not American and I don't know everything about the full history of black racism in the US. (I mean, there's so much it's hard to keep up.) And while I'm very bilingual, I'm not a native English speaker. When I learned my mistake I went back to apologize using my lemmy account.

When the ban reached its deadline, it was never removed. I was permanently banned due to a bug. The admins tried to fix it with manual manipulations of their database, but my account was screwed. So I essentially can't use it anymore.

I'm pretty upset about this. I don't blame all the admins, most are pretty great people. But there's one that went overboard and destroyed my account basically over one mistake.

Sorry to hear. Not sure if that bug gas been fixed since then. @rimu@piefed.social @wjs018@piefed.social

PieFed has a feature that makes it very difficult to evade a ban. It will sometimes mean things like this happen but it's worth it.

So in this case, the issue comes from the user above commenting with a Lemmy account after being banned on their Piefed one?
