Why?

Are we not ruining Earth enough and need more stuff to ruin, or do the rich want somewhere to go when they have destroyed things for the rest of us?

I mean I love space, and Iโ€™d love to move to a retirement community on the moon (Iโ€™ve even come up with a crappy slogan! โ€œ1/6 the gravity makes old bodies feel new again!โ€) but for real, why do we need commercial enterprise in the moon? Canโ€™t we just have a nice moon that isnโ€™t ruined by capitalism like literally everything else it touches?
