We need to swiftly transform No Kings from a Democratic Party spectacle to a grass roots resistance movement.

That is so fucking stupid.

A lesser evil can also lead to less evil incrementally as progress is made. What you're arguing for is to say that people should take a lesser evil and then take EVEN LESS evil than that. Your insistence on perfection will kill people.

I get that you want to be sanctimonious, but saving one person now is better than saving two people tomorrow, because it has the potential to also save two people tomorrow.

Watch as I use your same logic against you: Your no evil strategy resulted in Trump, and those Palestinians are grateful that you exterminated them faster. Nice going!

See how stupid that is?

[–] ClassStruggle@lemmy.ml 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

There has been no progress made. The only difference is Democrats keep shifting to the right with Republicans. In case you don't know turning into first-term Trump Republicans is not progress

[–] webadict@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Cool, you didn't listen. You are the average ML. You should feel proud to add this to your list of accomplishments.

[–] ClassStruggle@lemmy.ml 0 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I don't believe you are capable of arguing in good faith, right off the bat you tried to accuse me of personal attacks, but that's all that you've done.

[–] webadict@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I'm sorry you feel that way. You are still a sanctimonious bystander. You can pretend you did the right thing while you watch people die and feel superior about it. It is certainly a way to sleep at night.

[–] ClassStruggle@lemmy.ml -1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Democrats don't care about people dying, they just don't want to hear about it when it happens. They claim to be protecting the marginalized, who remain marginalized regardless which shade of fascism controls the halls of government, while supporting the systems that keep them marginalized. They put BLM in their profiles while demanding socialists and communists support the people that created the need for orgs like BLM to exist. We demanded the defending of ICE while Biden expanded the entire system, increasing federal funding to their highest levels, expanded detention centers, and militarized ICE. It wasn't until Trump started utilizing that expansion that liberals had an issue with it.

You can make broad generalizations like that, and, generally, there is some truth to it. But that doesn't defend YOUR actions. YOU are doing nothing to fix this. That is the point.

I get that other people are also not doing enough, that's a legitimate criticism, but it is not a defense, and it is a deflection when people point out your actions and you point that out.

If you think no evil is better than less evil, I agree with that. But where is your no evil? You cannot make effective change by watching people die because your principles wouldn't let you choose anything other than no evil, because... That isn't a no evil choice?

[–] ClassStruggle@lemmy.ml 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

We have solutions but Dems fight us tooth and nail to protect the status quo and the privileges it affords them

[–] webadict@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Yes, but... Why aren't they implemented? You can argue that the Dems fight you, but you're wasting energy here fighting people that aren't Dems. You haven't given those solutions, you haven't pushed for changes on the solutions given here. What's the point?

[–] ClassStruggle@lemmy.ml 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Liberal solutions are reform which doesn't work.

[–] webadict@lemmy.world 0 points 10 months ago

You haven't given those solutions, you haven't pushed for changes on the solutions given here.

Not a solution. Not a change to a proposed solution.

Do you understand yet why I find you to be a bystander?
