If the country is in so much debt, why did the president build a fancy new ball room?
Because he's a delusional narcissist that suffers from galloping dementia and is completely out of touch with reality. Plus he enjoys causing suffering for others.

Why isn't Trump using those bribes to feed Americans instead? Doesn't he care about Americans? Does Trump ballroom more than he wants Americans children to not go hungry?

No, he moved forward without bothering to ask anyone for permission and then fired the oversight agency when they loudly complained about the complete destruction of the East Wing.
