- No manipulating votes via bots or alt accounts; this will result in permanent bans. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in an account ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be permanently banned.

Perhaps not. They might have to swear in the new Democrat they're currently blocking for a month now, which could possibly lead to the release of some iteration of the Epstein files.
This is a very common theme in both successful and unsuccessful attempts at totalitarian takeovers. Essentially blaming the opposition for specific issues/events, followed by a crackdown, then a "restructuring" (for managed opposition e.g. Zimbabwe's Tsvangirai) or completely outlawing the existence of such parties (Greece under Metaxas). I'm very concerned about the near future. If the Republicans (this is bigger than Trump) are successful in their final push for an authoritarian state, it will result in the death and suffering of billions, guaranteed.

Via war and it's fallout, yes. The disruption to food, safe water, shelter, medical care, etc can increase the death toll well beyond direct casualties. Those are the most immediate effects, which doesn't take into account the extreme pollution caused by munitions or burning structures/vehicles. All this is also only considering the use of "conventional" weapons.
I too worry about trump bringing horrifying new wars. I don't quite see it as inevitable though

Something something The American Senate will no longer be of any concern to us. I've just received word that the Emperor has dissolved the council permanently. The last remnants of the Old Republic have been swept away.
Sure it will. Economic fallout from no govt money being spent and also air travel being seriously curtailed due to ATC shortages will open things up really quick, relatively.
If it messes with Congress' flights or Thanksgiving plans they'll open it back up right away. Same as the sequestration bullshit in 2012.
