What a weird and cynical thing to comment. "Through friends" and "through church" and "through work" are also kinds of algorithms, just limited. And not everyone who met online met through a dating service that's using an algorithm to match people. I met my now wife online in 2014 on an MMO, no algorithm involved.
I know what you mean, but as a software engineer this offended me.
I think that we all know that those filthy MMO software engineers use heuristics instead of algorithms.
*eye twitches*
The idea of being controlled by religion, meeting women that tolerate my friends, and fucking my co-workers are all equally unpalatable
I'm not sure I get what you mean about friends, wouldn't having a partner that gets along with one's friends be a good thing?
Imagine your life being limited by geography
how can you not believe in borders? they are right there, whether you believe in them or not. do you also not believe in gravity? 😂
oh someone else said the same nonsense? that changes everything 😆
We all do, though. Just because you’re not on a dating app, don’t imagine you don’t live life based on an algorithm.
Okay edge straddler so the algorithm chooses your spouse now? So when you google search for nearby restaurants that's an algorithm deciding your life for you? Do you click every ad that AdSense serves up? Unfortunately, we all still have to deal with the immense burden of free will.
