because classifying things that most people take for granted into niche subcategories is part of the ways it manifests.
Wanting to be able to take a train somewhere in 15 min instead of driving there in 30 mins, find a fucking parking spot in 15 and etc isn't autistic. Being excited that for once you're riding a NTW-JPT-2A instead of the more common NTW-JPT-2 is autistic.

I might spot you that failing to read the social queues when you want to regurgitate everything you know about a subject is the symptom. Also, the habit of ignoring the world around you in order to immerse yourself in reading materials or other non-social stimulus.
It isn't the excitement at novelty or the peculiar fascination that classifies someone. It's the refusal to make eye contact, the obsessive-compulsive behaviors, and the struggle with empathy.
