Oh wow I didn't know ABB had a Lemmy community. I recently started using it myself. I don't know everything but here is what I do know:

As for public/white/static IP vs dynamic(default) IP, I know I can call my ISP and tell "give me static IP", they will answer "ok, give us some more money", and I will be able to do port forwarding and probably my uploads will increase significantly, because now I can connect to anyone and everyone can connect to me. Maybe real problem is not in static/dynamic IP, but problem is CGNAT which is reality only for dynamic IP's. Or maybe CGNAT is in effect only for IPv4, but not for IPv6.
Looks like there's no simple answer, one have to understand network technologies. Currently I don't understand them. I will try to dig into IPv6 a little bit more.
Huh this is definitely sounding more complicated than what I know about this topic. You can do port forwarding on any router. You just have to set it to forward the QBT port (7832 By default) to whatever the IP is if your local machine running QBT. I thought I'd read you already did that though so I'm a bit confused.
...I think I have heard of ISPs that block incoming connections by default though now that you mention it so maybe that is what you're referring to? It sounds like you may know more about this than I.
My ISP doesn’t support IPv6. Looks like only solution is to pay either for VPN with port forwarding or for static IP.
