I've been bitching about "the Dems" since elementary school when they defended Bill Clinton for lying under oath...
A year ago was really the first time we pried the party back from neoliberals in all those 30 years, because Obama just ignored it instead of appointing chairs that agreed with him.
I'll never be blindly optimistic about anything but as fucked as America is today, this is the most hopeful I've ever been for the country on a 10 year timeline.
We just ain't thru the worst yet.
I feel like Jeffries and Schumer need to go before serious change will actually happen in the party though. The party’s leaders in congress are corporate neoliberal stooges.
While correct...
In case you haven't noticed, nothing is being passed by Congress and it's barely even in session these days.
They're both 100% lame ducks, but that honestly doesn't matter right now.
We'll vote for new congressional leadership after midterms and the new reps are sat, and neither stands a chance of retaining their spots if they don't have the DNC behind them willing to hand seats to Republicans if Dems don't toe the line.
I hope what you are saying is what is going to happen. We really need an FDR type leader in 2028 if we are going to fix this broken ass country.
