What are you talking about? She doesn't even trade stocks. She was one of the reps trying to ban trading.

I think they were trying to point out the double standard here. As a Democrat, she gets hung out to dry over a tiny infraction, whereas Republicans are openly corrupt and face 0 consequences. They're saying if she ran as a Republican this incident would never have been a problem because the bar is so low for them.

Democrats are expected to be as pure as the driven snow and Republicans are expected to be awful and disgusting.

And it's even worse than that: when the Republicans act in terrible ways, thanks to Murc's Law, often it is the Democrats who are blamed for not somehow reeling in the Republicans.

It's bad enough when the Republicans do it, but they are often joined by a the supposed "liberal" media nearly always, not to mention just about every reactionary centrist you ever have the pleasure to know in your personal life...

Report, block, and live a happier life than they do. Any slap-fight is subject to comment removals. Fights full of rule violations will result in temporary bans to cool off.
  4. No manipulating votes via bots or alt accounts; this will result in permanent bans. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in an account ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be permanently banned.

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules and use critical thinking when reading, posting, and commenting. Users that repeatedly have comments or posts removed, weaponize reports, or violate the code of conduct, will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
