That's still way cheaper than prices in Europe, even compared to pre war. In Germany you currently pay around 2.20€ per litre which is ~9.50$ per gallon.

Yeah but Europeans aren't driving like Americans. Also the US heavily subsidizes the oil industry so we're still paying those prices just not at the pump.
