The German government has a Schuldentilgunskonto (debt extinguishment bank account) since 2006. It has been opened on citizen's request and allows people to donate money to the Federal Republic of Germany. €1.4 million have been donated so far. At that speed it will only take 40 millions years to clear our debt.
