Welcome to The Shitpost Office

Shitposts processed from 9 to 5, with occasional overtime on weekends.

Rule 1: Be Civil, Not SinisterTreat others like fellow employees, not enemies in the breakroom.

  • No harassment, dogpiling, or brigading
  • No bigotry (transphobia, racism, sexism, etc.)
  • Respect people’s time and space. We’re here to laugh, not to loathe

Rule 2: No Prohibited PostageSome packages are simply undeliverable. That means:

  • No spam or scams
  • No porn or sexually explicit content
  • No illegal content
  • NSFW content must be properly tagged

If you see anything that violates these rules, please report it so we can return it to sender. Otherwise? Have fun, be silly, and enjoy the chaos. The office runs best when everyone’s laughing.... or retching over the stench, at least.

$3.49 for a fucking hashbrown? They better be frying that up with truffle oil and giving me overpriced pink Himalayan salt for fucks sake

[–] TheAsianDonKnots@lemmy.zip 41 points 2 months ago (2 children)

…AND they’re limp and greasy AF. Almost like they don’t let them drip dry anymore and let the bag and car seat do the soaking up.

Been going to Rotten Ronnie’s for 40 years. Haven’t been since 2022.

I can get a 16 pack for $3.79, essentially the price of one. I do occasionally eat McDonald's because of my kids, but I cook my hash browns at home.

Those ones in the frozen section of Walmart are great on a budget, lived off them for years, but I usually go with the dehydrated ones from Costco because I like to control the grease, seasoning, and shape.

Lolol rotten ronnie's...

Almost sounds like a pleasant dive diner until you realize what you're actually talking about

[–] Switorik@sh.itjust.works 17 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I recently bought one and was baffled by the price. They are about 1.5 times the size of the original. That doesn't make up for the absurd price and I don't see myself buying another one.

The thing that always used to confuse me is how a hash brown costs more than a sausage McMuffin

[–] gigastasio@sh.itjust.works 13 points 2 months ago

I’m speculating, but I feel like their fries and hash browns have absurd standalone prices to try and steer people towards the meal deals that already include them.

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I've never seen that. And I practically survived on sausMcNoEggs.

[–] johnyreeferseed@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 2 months ago

I haven't had McDonald's in a while but I just checked and a hash brown is 2.59 and a sausage McMuffin is 1.50, where I live.

[–] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 2 points 2 months ago

Yeah I stopped going there years ago because their prices are out of control. You're a fast food place, the only reason you exist is to provide fast, cheap food. Stay in your lane. The quality of the food and service has decreased too so wtf are people even getting out of all that extra money?

[–] protist@retrofed.com 15 points 2 months ago (1 children)

The grocery store near me sells a frozen 20 pack of these for like $8. Also I can get sizeable breakfast tacos from a local spot for $3 each. Corporate America is the problem, you should never visit corporate chain stores if you don't have to.

But both those things mean I have to get out of my car! Total rip-off, man. obese noises

[–] FosterMolasses@leminal.space 1 points 2 months ago

Even then it'd be highway robbery

I've had slider burgers from a yuppie foodtruck with truffle aioli and "microgreens" for 3.30 a pop lol
