What.sucks is that it sounds like it's two episodes of the Mando TV series turned into a film.

On paper if you rewind to the end of Mando season 2. Give us a Boba solo story of him wanting to settle down. Give us a Mando one shot adventure "special presentation" without Grogu (basically the story of him hunting down the dog person in Book of Boba), then give us a Boba+Mando+Grogu film. Then give us Mando season 3 rebuilding Mandalore. Then put this as part of Mando season 4??? You'd be golden.

On paper this story works. The execution has been all over the place.

Based on the reviews this is going to be a mid film that will probably do well on Disney+. But as a theatrical film? It's fine.

Frankly the movie could have been doubled in length and split into 4 episodes of the show but I'm not sure that the powers that be would have bothered to make those episodes as quality as they made this movie.
