The radical anti-capitalist group took up arms against what they saw as US imperialism and a “fascist” German state still riddled with former Nazis. It is believed to have been responsible for killing at least 30 people and injuring 200.

Are we talking innocent people or fash scum?

Both I'd say, though mainly the latter. Also it gets really muddled when you look closer. There were three different "generations" of RAF members, that didn't have that much to do with each other, personally or ideologically. And of course there was also involvement of secret services, which still hasn't really been researched deeply.
