What do you think the odds are of that happening, this year or next or whatever?
Keep in mind, this thing in Iran won't end. It might get hot and cold with ceasefires Israel routinely, if not daily, violates.
After a successful op in Venezuela, he thought he could boost his rep with another one, and then blew it in Iran.
Now he'll want an easy win to redeem himself, and he'll go all in on Cuba, with troops and everything, figuring it will be a walk in the park since it's right off the coast.
But he'll fuck it up, and kill lots of American troops, and innocent Cubans, and even the American Cubans will get pissed off, and he'll be in an even worse situation than before.
Never underestimate his ability to totally fuck up EVERYTHING.
Initial military success in regard to Venezuela. When the Venezuelan people realize how badly they are getting shafted, they will rebel and take control of their oil again.
Feels like an October Surprise moment, especially if Republicans are worried about losing in Florida.
Ah yes, Florida Cuban expats playing the old abuser card:
Republicans aren't worried about losing Florida it's on lock as I understand it.
But yeah, right before the elections is not a bad guess. I think it would hurt them more than help, but if they manufactured a pretext and did something right before the election before it became clear this was more hamfisted leadership it might not hurt.
Their approval rating has been underwater for months, even in that cursed state.
The US media does a great job of taking everything Trump says at face value and in the best possible framing for about three weeks after he says it, and then running a bunch of "Can't believe y'all let Lucy trick you with that football again" articles once the latest fuckery is in the rearview mirror.
He made gains with Hispanics then proceeded to sic ICE on them. Now many are conservative as hell and have their own issues with colorism and racism, but I am curious to see how this plays out in 2028.
Imagine being so fucking stupid you believe a republican would do anything positive for anyone but themselves.
You’re already mentally brain dead if you think a democrat would ever help you, you’ve got to be literal rotting zombie flesh puppeted by the propaganda of pedophiles to believe a word a republican says.
"Increase the federal minimum wage to $15 across the country and eliminate the minimum tipped wage." ~Joe Biden
not even one standalone bill. they only needed a majority. They skip super majority requirements all of the time with a majority vote, they've done it hundreds of times (it's a parliamentary rule only and not the law).
The Iran situation is going to end the same way as Afghanistan. USA will declare job done and just leave, leaving the mess for others to sort out. Oil production will ramp up elsewhere where it's suddenly profitable to extract because of the higher prices which will eventually find a new balance. Israel will kill a lot of people domestically and play the victim.
I see a world war where the whole world finally gets tired of America and decides that the USA could do with some major demolition projects.
I don't think anybody wants that, or not from the current Iran conflict anyway.
Trump just declared the war over about an hour ago.
Whatever these stupid events are, it's probably not escalating to a world war.
and in 3 hours he will ask our former allies for help ending the war. and 24 hours after that he will be claiming we are winning the war. and in a few days he will say that we won the war months ago.
As an armchair general I would guess before midterms if they are set to lose (and if losing means they won't be able to start a new invasion), and after if not. But in any case Cuba isn't much of a challenge compared to Iran, so it won't be hard to invade, militarily speaking
