Yes, like most cases where this is brought up the local case is what you're referencing but it doesn't affect your breathing if it's released over the open ocean. And the point is that we have been polluting sulfur in large amounts already and we've just recently started doing that less.
@Einskjaldi so you want to pollute the world with toxic chemicals and it's going to make everything worse. Sorry, are you a Captain Planet villain?
It's not toxic is the point, and it's a tiny fraction of what volcanoes put out. Things are like you can can do nothing and be smug as 90%of all species die off or do everything you can to cool the planet.
