I got this for $30 from a neighbor. It was missing a spacebar spring and needed a good cleaning but now it works! I've been using it for journaling for like three weeks now. Great fun

Congratulations on this purchase—and on your ability to replace that spring! For a first repair, it's commendable!

If you want to publish typewritten texts, even if just for.showcasing the font, you can use the !typecasts@sh.itjust.works community.

Thanks! It was a little intimidating especially because I didn't really know how they worked. But it m when I realized the spacebar was not moving back up I was able to poke around and find the spot for the missing spring. The only downside is I haven't yet found the perfect replacement spring, I ended up hot gluing one that's a little too stiff in place, hopefully I'll find a better one soon. But it works!
