Who are we?

We are digital librarians. Among us are represented the various reasons to keep data -- legal requirements, competitive requirements, uncertainty of permanence of cloud services, distaste for transmitting your data externally (e.g. government or corporate espionage), cultural and familial archivists, internet collapse preppers, and people who do it themselves so they're sure it's done right. Everyone has their reasons for curating the data they have decided to keep (either forever or For A Damn Long Time). Along the way we have sought out like-minded individuals to exchange strategies, war stories, and cautionary tales of failures.

We are one. We are legion. And we're trying really hard not to forget.

Collection of pre-patched Super Mario World Romhacks and Mods from SWMDB.me 202107 By Storage Manager (Repack)

Uploaded by Thingsiplay

Originally uploaded by Storage Manager at https://archive.org/details/super-mario-world-hacks (defunced now). This is a repackage of the same files. The original collection contains over 29 thousand files, only compressed as individual files. This means that Internet Archive's internal "on-the-fly-zip" doesn't work and each file has to be downloaded individually. I downloaded all files and packaged them up into multiple archives based on their category directory they were sorted into. Also the original source no longer exists, therefore this is a reupload for archival purpose.

Legacy information from original upload:

Complete: Entire collection of original upload. Each category is archived separately for easy download. The original 14 GiB full set of 29k compressed Roms. Every single Rom file is compressed as 7z.

Reduced: A script clean_smwdb.sh tries to detect multiple versions of a Rom and keeps only the newest entry of it. Furthermore bad files and unneeded categories (such as Jokes and Trash) are deleted. This reduces the total number of files from 29k to "only" 8k uncompressed Roms. Also while each category is still packaged for batch downloads, every single Rom file in it are already extracted (unlike the Complete packages).

In case its not clear, the original source does not exist any longer. So I re-uploaded my copy. Thank god I had downloaded it before in its entirety.
