I recently picked up a couple of Apple TV gen 3.1, and discovered you can't do a whole lot with them aside from cast from your phone these days. I can't solder for shit, so jailbreaks are out of the question for me, sadly. In the process of researching all this, however, I found a GitHub that will help you hijack the Redbull TV app that comes pre-installed to run IPTV through it. Anyone know of anything good I can look into further? I'm on disability and life is expensive 😭

This is a little out of the blue, but have you found any way to update the Canadian Onn 4K Pro? The last security update on mine was back in 2024, and some Quebec TV apps disappeared because they require a newer android version.

It looks like they had a bad android 14 rollout in the states, that they fixed later, but there are no news about it ever coming to Canada. With the new device release, my hopes are down.

I got my boxes in the U.S. to take to Europe, so unfortunately I'm not sure what the situation is for the Canadian version; odd that they didn't roll out the firmware update to those devices though.

Ah, sorry, saw you were giving prices in CAD and assumed you were in Canada.

No worries; on the rare occasion a comment involves listing a price for something, I generally try to not default to US$ if the subject matter isn't the U.S. if I can help it.
