Feels like a bit of an Everything's coming up ~~Millhouse~~ Baku moment. I had my first drive today. Only 20 minutes, but I didn't crash. I've also come to the conclusion that I should temper my expectations a bit, because I was way overconfident 😂😂
That’s great that you feel confident! You’re right to be wary of being overconfident because you don’t want to start taking risks and have it backfire badly. My biggest piece of advice is to drive like everyone else on the road hasn’t slept for two days and is really distracted. Use your indicators early, drive predictably, leave a good braking distance between you and cars in front, watch out for panic-merging at the last minute, and stick to a safe speed (that might not necessarily be the speed limit if it is, say, raining/foggy/roadworks etc).
Thanks for the advice! It was just around a fairly quiet car park today, and I'm still trying to get the hang of the controls. Though, I will bear your advice in mind for when I do hop out on to the roads!
it's never too early to begin doing donuts in a car park, L plates add to the aura tbh
Rainy days are going to be hard on new drivers, the first time it rained after I got my license I lost control of my car and went thru a sign.
