Came to Canada over 24 years ago... called some Canadians "Americans" by mistake, they did not like it hehehehe
Some of us were ahead of the curve, I guess. My entire family has been the second version my whole life.
Funny, 2002 was the year they bombed us in Afghanistan.
They are Americans though. Same as Mexicans, Brazilians, Costa Ricans, Chileans, and so on: all Americans. Their southern neighbors are just USAians.
Wrong we are not Americans, we happen to reside in North America but are Canadians, so to be correct you would need to say North American. Nobody would call a Brazilian an American, you would be laughed at scornfully and small children would throw rotten produce at you.
No you're wrong bud. I'm Canadian and he's right.
We are Canadian and American.
Same as a Spaniard is Spanish and European.
Who's cares if some take offense to the association of "American" to United Statesican. That's their problem.
Take America Back Again.
We are North Americans not Americans, As a Canadian i Genuinely look forward to the downfall and destruction of the United States.
North American. You are American. US Americans just claimed the word "American" because they think they're the center of the world. Don't let them. They are USAians.
Are you for real? 😆
North American is America.
Sure... death to America (USA), and all that...
But did you consider that the statement, "death to America" might have been part of the psyop to engage the Americas into siding against Muslim nations in the middle east?
Try not to be subject to the propaganda.
Come to Canada and try it bud, see how far you get. Try it in Mexico also, there they'll likely you laugh at you and call you an idiot, here you'll be lucky if you don't get knocked in the throat.
It's been like this forever. We're nice but ONE thing we don't like is being mistaken for Americans. before we were polite about it but now not so much.
I hear this a lot from South Americans. You can't force people against their culture. If you are in Canada, "American" means "man who outruns wisdom".
we are North Americans. not americans. we're Canadians.
Do you realise what you're writing? North American. You're American. You're just not US American. Don't let the USAians claim American for themselves. They don't represent the peoples of 2 continents.
Sigh.
Some folks just don't understand set theory, right?
I'm afraid some people really need this stuff visualised in order to understand.
