Are there any developments for a satellite constellation hacker group that provides internet service globally to bypass censorship? (piefed.ca)

I heard the concept from the Electronic Frontier Foundation and It sounds like one of the end game goals for linux users. Imagine smuggling a €50 laptop component to see the free internet from anywhere on the globe.
