I did make this tonight. I called it Peking duck conFusion. I used rice noodles instead of rice. Oh how the Asian chef angels wept.

Yes that's a shadow of my head.

Very easy to make but I can make food look more gourmet than it actually is.

That looks pretty yummy. Love your bowl Other Asian

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I need to find more of them. I only have 2 and now I have an extra body to feed she would like an Asian bowl too.

Do you have any Asian convenience store near you? That sells all sorts of things not food more like assortment of stuff. There’s 2 places in Footscray and I think they might sell something along that line. Next time I’m in Footscray and if I don’t forget I’ll check it out for you

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 4 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Thanks for that. All I've come across is those melamine bowls. These ones are ceramic.

[–] Goddess_Amaterasu@aussie.zone 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah melamine is quite popular of late but there should still be some places that sell ceramic ones.

I'll keep my eyes open. If I have to go melamine I will but I don't want to.

I’ll keep my eyes peeled for all the Asian shops I go to

Not a problem at all.

[–] baconmash@aussie.zone 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

you got the authentic good stuff

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 4 points 1 year ago

And I don't remember where I got them from. I've had them for about 20 years and I've got the little ones to go with them.

That egg looks perfectly gooey

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Thank you. Mine is sunny side up :) the man's is easy over :(

[–] Electronic_Owl@aussie.zone 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

All day breakfast for dinner tonight because I'm lacking inspiration - I just hope the poachies on toast turn out gooey and delicious. Got some nice free-range bacon and a few mushies on the side.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Whoa. A half arsed English fry up. I love a breakfast dinner. Baked beans for the win.

[–] Electronic_Owl@aussie.zone 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yep, just got a tin o' baked beans out of the pantry for me. Mrs_Owl hates them and will be having grilled toms

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 2 points 1 year ago

Toot toot. 💨

[–] Waddlekins@aussie.zone 4 points 1 year ago

Right? Gooey eggs are amazing

[–] useless_modern_god@lemmy.one 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This is a blessed bowl of hot yum-yum.

[–] bull@aussie.zone 4 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Is that coriander? This looks really nice besides that, but I am on team #fuckcoriander (I don't think it tastes like soap)

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 3 points 1 year ago

That is coriander. Precisely cut with a pair of kitchen scissors. A bit like cutting a hedge.

[–] goat@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 year ago

Tastes like ass

[–] Goddess_Amaterasu@aussie.zone 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

So no Asian chefs are crying, you have 4 different Asians in your comments who approve. We equal at least one chef I’m sure 😜

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 5 points 1 year ago

I'm chuffed ☺. It was actually really good.
