I mean it's kinda true,

but it also true that the same job might just have been given to an AI, or eliminated in a stockholder pocket padding round of layoffs.

This is just more "blame Gen Z" justification of late stage capitalism.

Just call it capitalism, Lenin wrote about new vs old capitalism.

Also you're going to need to already be ahead of people to network. You're not networking your way out of poverty because statistically you're not going to be talking to people at the country club.
