Heard this song on Top Gear, S03E09. It is an instrumental song by Gianfranco Plenizio from the early 1970s.

But the linked section of the song (38 seconds to about 59 seconds) sounds just like a newer song that's on the tip of my tongue, I thought it was an instrumental remake of the newer song.

The newer song with the same tune had vocals and I think is a rock song. I think the lyrics are something like "This blah blah love blah me everywhere, I only wanted you to know." Feels like from the 1980s or 1990s.

I feel like it resembles a sort of parody song like "I like it here in America" with an accent with rolled Rs repeated by children. I can hear a jingle in my head, but I can't place the source of my memory. Kinda thinking Loony Toons doing some Mexican maid gig

Edit: "America" from West Side Story? Not actually a parody in original form, but easily repeated by children. Also has a Spanish accent. [redacted part about cross reference, realizing the play is older than the song in question]

No sorry, those aren't it. It's a rock song, not from a musical, sort of an unrequited love song I think.
