Color aside, what a terrible idea
Why do you say that?
I wouldn’t use a painted key in a lock. Any material debris in a lock adds resistance and that paint coming off in the lock pretty quickly.
I don’t know if that was the original commenters point but that’s why I wouldn’t.
I used a pained set of keys in my house locks for 13ish years and never ran in to an issue. May have been the type of paint. By the end the only print left on any of them were little splotches around the head of the key and deep in the groves.
