Publishers don't want the devs getting credit, because that makes them less disposable.

The first game Easter Egg was literally Warren Robinett putting his name in a game he made because Atari didn't allow the devs to be credited.

The history of the Easter Egg is inportant to the plot of Ready Player One - the book and the movie.

That was what I was referring too. The book is worth it, the movie not so much tho.
