Seems at times like it's animated by AC-bu.
Also does sound like oldschool Primus in the verses. But I haven't followed their output, so idk if anything changed much over the years.
I am curious as to how this was animated.
Cage Claypool's animation style blends traditional acrylic paintings with 2.5D digital sculpting to create immersive, surreal visuals that evolve from his father Les Claypool's original artwork and music. His "pulsating poetry paintings" series uses layered textures and depth to produce a flat-yet-sculpted effect, often paired with narrative-driven music videos
It seems to be the fashion in the past decade to make 3D animation that looks vaguely 2D: from anime and ‘RWBY’ to this weird technique made to better control the head's appearance with wide virtual lenses and such.
Curiously, AC-bu were making 2D animation for a long time, but ‘New Tribe’ translates their peculiar style into 3D very well.
