Wait, Jigsaw is an old guy? I thought he was a doll.
Basically the reason Saw is doing the crazy shit is because he's an old guy with cancer and his health insurance said he's too old to get care so they're just gonna let him die. So he starts taking it out on people that are/could be related to the reason he was denied health insurance (in the 1st one I think it's his doctor?)
At least that's how I recall the story
He also targeted people who took life granted, like those with multiple suicide attempts. Which evidently cured them afterwards??
One of the plot points in one of the later movies is that he was too sick to keep doing it so a copy cat started it, but they were selecting innocent people which pissed him off and he killed them.
So he realises he has enough funds to organise a dispirit group of strangers into a kill chamber, and does that instead of using it to fund cancer treatment either in the USA or elsewhere.
By "targeting people who take life for granted," saw is a hypocrite!
So he is like a shit Luigi?
But Luigi went directly after for the man causing him issues.
the doll is just his avatar. He is indeed an old guy who is dead for most of the franchise because the writers wrote themselves into a corner early on. The first Saw movie is still a solid film with a pretty awesome twist at the end. Everything that came after the first one is just increasingly ridiculous nonsense.
