I meant relative to MSRP. This model was $1,799 at launch just a year or two ago. Keep in mind the Jolla Phone 2 is also about $700 USD.

I need lots of screen real estate for work and projects, so I basically can't use phones less than 7" anymore, which knocks out a lot of reasonable budget options, and this was a good chance to try a foldable for not much more money than what I would be spending at minimum anyway.

I'm also expecting Android-based OSs to maybe not be a viable option for my upgrade after this one, so I wanted performance I'd be happy with for a while while I wait for Linux phones to mature some more. I tend to stick with any one phone for 5 or more years, and I'm hoping to do the same here.
