We speak the same language

not really, we spell colour, and neighbour properly with a "u", and pronounce the letter "z" zed not zee. We also pronounce lieutenant leftenant not the incorrect loo-tenant. We also pour a Queen's Pint, I guess King's Pint now, not your pissy 16oz "pint"

I know, but a different dialect is still one language. We are mutually intelligible to each other. There's less variation between us than there is within the UK, so I don't think we can argue it isn't the same language even if they are sloppier with it.
