Albertan here, I'm pretty sure I've been yelling this from every soapbox I've had access to since Jason Kenney was Premier, at this point, feeling pretty hopeless that Alberta is gonna do anything to prevent a yes vote to separating. Even if they can't.
Sadly, too many take for granted what they have: don't understand or appreciate it. There are some very hard lessons coming. There are aspects of Canadian culture and government that all Canadians should be fiercely proud and defensive of, but the US is extremely experienced and effective at sowing discord and conflict: divide and conquer. Petty grievances will be played up, a few will have their vanity and greed played to, then the rug will be pulled and all will be lost.
