I mean he's the CEO of Sex, Peter's making the right choice.

But actually I think Ned was just quick to connect some dots and I don't think he suddenly remembered Peter Parker. I think, like MJ, he knew he was missing something and he channeled that into finding Spider-Man.

Ned and Peter were quick to bond when hanging out with MJ. As Spider-Man leaves MJ tells Peter to be safe, causing Ned to ask if Spider-Man's name is Peter. Later when Peter introduced himself, as Peter, there is a pause from Ned. Flower guy? Didn't he have a different name? Wait Spider-Man's name is Peter? And then, just like riding a bike they do their special handshake.

Like MJ, Ned doesn't really know Peter Parker again, but Peter fits in whatever the emptiness the spell left behind.

I think Ned was Peter's best friend a lot more than MJ was his girlfriend. Not even just talking about how long they knew him either; I think it hurt Peter more to not have Ned than to not have MJ.

Romance is nice but friendship is often underrated. I think you can function a lot longer without romance than you can without friendship.
