Dropped my 401k contribution today to start building up cash reserves, assuming my spouse quits their job towards the end of the year.

After combining our total invested numbers, it turns out we are at our FI number already so we don't really have to invest further before retiring. However our cash reserves are quite low (< 1 year of expenses). It makes sense to only contribute to the company match, but dang does it feel strange to not max it out. I'm going to have to ratchet down gradually, because I emotionally couldn't process the thought of only contributing to the match.
