I used to read /r/nosleep and listen to the podcast a lot around 2015 - 2019. Somehow by the end I just don't like them. I can't put a finger why.

I wonder if they're battling AI slop posts a lot nowadays.

The biggest problem with the forum is that it is not conducive to good creative writing. The fact that you literally aren't allowed to offer feedback on stories makes it a lot harder for newer writers to learn what they're doing right and what/how they can improve

I remember they have a sister sub that breaks out of the role playing that can give input. maybe I am misremembering though.

but yes I agree, the rules for nosleep is no breaking the fourth wall.
