Games need more RAM, but prices are abysmal. Unfortunate, I know. But before you empty your wallet for an upgrade, what if the answer is switching to the penguin side? I ran two identical test benches in real-world workloads to find out if ditching Windows is the only memory upgrade you actually need.

Its actually made quite the diffrence because windows 11 uses 18GB of Ram to run BG3, where Linux Mint was able to do the same with only 12GB.

If you only have 16GB of RAM, this avoids having to upgrade your RAM.
