I hear you about finding just the right answer, but is it an option to use a random stainless insulated mug and then leave the top off, until it's the right temp?
Roads are rough until I hit the highway, its a good way to get coffee splashed around. I have performed the sacrilege of dropping ice cubes in it, and sometimes I will pop the top off when I get to the smoother roads.
