Yes. after it reaches a certain point of maturity. Gene editing hasn't.

And that "somewhere" is optogenetics mice, bacteria that produce egg whites, and glowing fish. Not a complete rewrite of the entire human digestive, immune and microbiotic systems!

Also rabies immunity is because they're birds not mammals, if you want that; add nervous system and metabolic overhauls as well.
