That's the idea behind wage surveillance.

lol it is ok when a company needs to learn your current salary so they can pay the least possible amount of money to you but it is a big no no when you want to ask your coworkers for their salaries so that you can determine if you are being paid fairly.

I always tell them that I'm earned close to my target salary, without telling them my target salary.
