I constructed everything in Fusion360 and cut the wood layers on a CNC. The parchment layer was cut with a foil cutting machine.

Why the ebony layer if it's overlaid exactly by the cherry layer? Does it add extra visual depth, or is it a sonic choice?
Exactly this! It is also slightly larger than the cherry layer, so ot looks like a black outline. Cherry and Ebony layer are each 1mm deep, so the ebony gives an interesting effect when the rose is viewed slightly from the side.
