Vindictive & malicious teachers honestly have no place in the public school system or anywhere within 300 m / 1000 ft of children. I had one of those evil people as a teacher for 3rd grade. I hope she's burning in hell, if such a place exists. Terrible human being.

Back in my school days it was hit or miss as to whether the bus riders would be penalized if the bus was late getting us to school. I don't think I was ever personally called out for it though. Punished for it, sure.

High school was particularly ridiculous. If we were 10 (or maybe 15) minutes late for a class, we would get counted as absent and we'd have to spend the rest of the period in the holding room they used for in-school suspension. The bus riders were predominantly the kids from poor families, because middle class and up typically either the parents dropped the kids off at school or got their kids a car when they turned 16 (legal driving age). It was literally penalizing poor students for the bus drivers' inability to stick to the schedule.
