Wes Streeting, the gay former-health secretary of the United Kingdom who extended the country’s indefinite ban on gender-affirming care for youth, was appointed to a new role as Defense Secretary last month. He is now opening up about the massive uptick in homophobic abuse he has seen since taking on his new position, even as LGBTQ+ community members criticize him for his transphobic policies.

I misunderstood your original comment and thought it came off as you saying he is right in not needing to support people in his own community, clearly the wrong interpretation of your point
